Wienerberg
Thanks to the balanced mixture of uses with modern, distinctive office towers, interesting residential projects and an attractive shopping and entertainment centre, the Wienerberg has turned into an emerging office location. Some crucial steps are made at the Wienerberg with the Vienna Business Park and especially the Euro Plaza. Both office locations are expanding and could come out with almost 150,000 square metres of office space in the following four years.
St. Marx - Erdberg - Gasometer
The fact that locations do not only grow over time, but that they can also be created, is demonstrated by St. Marx and TownTown. The area Erdberg/Gasometer scores with a direct connection to the city centre (U3) as well as the vicinity to the airport and the A23 motorway direction Budapest and Bratislava. The city of Vienna tries to establish a media cluster in the surroundings of the old slaughterhouses.
The site has a certain flair, and the mixture between modern office buildings - such as Austria's biggest office building, the T-Mobile headquarters - and the renovated abattoir halls (now used for cultural purposes) offers a diversified and interesting area with campus feeling in the middle of town. The Wiener Stadtwerke (Vienna's municipal utility) acted as project developer in TownTown, bringing several municipal authorities to the location, thus initiating an agglomeration of the public sector. By now, several other division of the city of Vienna are being talked about as tenants for the following construction stages (f.i. the Landmark).
Vienna DC / UNO City
The modern residential, office and science location on the Donauplatte scores with its good infrastructure, its distinctive overall design and, especially, with its ideal connection to the metro network direction city centre as well as the direct connection to the motorway and the consequently very short time it takes to reach the airport. It was one of the first location that was developed from scratch; it is now well-established. Some project on the site - among them the Vienna DC Towers - are still in the pipeline.
Seestadt Aspern
Over the next 20 years, the North East of Vienna will see the formation of "aspern Die Seestadt" ("Aspern, the Lake Town"). With 240,000 hectares of space and approx. 40,000 people who will live or work there, aspern is one of Europe's biggest urban development projects. The "Lake Town" will combine many aspects: business location and living space, city and nature, modern architecture and alternative energies. From the very beginning, it has been a top priority to create a mixed usage and no monoculture. Living, working, spare time, culture, education, recreation and shopping in one location: it is all about creating an urban and livable town. Economically, the Seestadt is embedded into the CENTROPE region.
North-west axis
An effective office location has been developed in Muthgasse; the recent completion of the project "Skyline" marked a climax in realisation. Moreover, the topping-out ceremony of the new department building for the VIBT - Vienna Institute of Bio Technology - already took place in Muthgasse, where the new construction could trigger off a concentration of university facilities. The spatial extension of the VIBT brought about a further appreciation of the location in Vienna's 19th district, and there is still potential for future expansions
